Vancouver 2010 Olympic Closing Ceremony

If you have been closely following the Vancouver Olympics like me then you know that it is about to close. And that over 50,000 specators will pile into the arena to reflect and celebrate the end of the competition. They are also waiting for the long list of A List stars are set to bring the Olympics to a close. This will be Canada themed – saying “I am Canada” and it will include appearances of prominent Canadians like William Shatner, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, and Michael J Fox and include performances by Neil Young, Michael Buble, Nickelback, Simple Plan, Hedley, Shania Twain, Alanis Morisette, Avril Lavigne, and many other musicians.

Save the melody…

I have been hearing a lot of good melodies in my head lately, unfortunately I hear them at the least opportune places: while taking a bath, while travelling, while at work… As much as I’d love to save the melody and record them, I can’t. I just can’t… It got me thinking, maybe the best song there is or ever was, was a song that run through somebody’s head for a few moments and were lost to nothingness – forever.

"Love for A Child"

This song really touched my heart. I could really relate to most of what the song is singing about, and it’s like Jason just told me his sad childhood story (or a friends) in the song. If you are a parent, or you have a child looking up to you, I hope you listen carefully to this song.

Gig Issues

Ever since I have been actively gigging (if you call once or twice a month as active) – the ironic thing  is – my guitar has not properly worked.  When I was busy working, this guitar was working properly – and now that I need it at gigs, the pickup died.  It’s like the universe conspired to give me extra problems… Sigh.  I had it repaired but the shop replaced it with a high output pickup, it will only work with Acoustic amps, which of course non of the venues I play at has.  I’m getting tired of using a friends guitar, and though it is a nice guitar – I want to use my own “sword” when I fight my “fights”.  I’m thinking about getting a new guitar…  Good luck to me.
