49th Church Anniversary Preparations

I haven’t even been a musical director for a year and I am already faced with a difficult assignment. I was to head the program committee for our church’s coming 49th anniversary! At first I knew it was hard, and I just recently came back and held a position. I’m not sure if people will accept my ideas and I was not confident. Still I accepted the challenge regardless of how I thought or felt. As we started to brain storm – the idea came to us to have a “Heaven” theme for this year’s anniversary. We wanted to have costumes and designs and music that will make the congregation feel that they are in heaven.

At first I was skeptical, even though it was an idea that came from me, I was doubting and thought that it will just be a mediocre affair. However, with the help of the Holy Spirit’s guidance – everyone did their part so well that I felt so overwhelmed! I wasn’t expecting much with the costumes but it turned out really nice, the same with the design and the overall program. Everything was far above what I expected. And now that the event is nearing the pressure is on to make sure that the music will be as heavenly as the design and costumes. I am glad because I know He will help us and the angels will sing with us on our Anniversary and it will be a start of a powerful and anointed year for our church.
