Israel Houghton and Planet Shakers in Manila
Last month, we were blessed to join the worship concert of Israel Houghton and Planet Shakers at the Araneta Colliseum. We were able to get good seats up front and were even able to get pictures at the stage before the concert started.

While checking out their gear – I was surprised to find out that they were using Line 6 PodHD 500 floor pedals straight to PA!

The concert went really well, and although I was a bit skeptical at first – thinking that Israel and the guys from Planetshakers might have that rockstar mentality – I was proven wrong with their dedication to God and their careful way of making sure that the audience know that Jesus is the center – its all about God. Now if only we could have someone like Israel doing a praise and worship workshop at our local church – that would be really awesome! Or maybe have a video or audio conferencing from ActConferencing.com – teaching through the internet!
All in all it was an experience that I’ll never forget – like a preview of how the worship will be in heaven. I’ll be sure to buy front seat tickets again when they go back.
Radio Guestings
I was asked to help promote the 2nd National Elements Singing and Songwriting Camp last Saturday, and I just said yes out of sheer gratitude for what the camp has helped me experience and learn. What I did not know was that the promotion was really special, I will be playing with no less than the super talented main man of South Border – Mr. Jay Durias. He is a very popular musician, singer, songwriter and was lately a musical director for a noon time TV show.
When I found out that he will come with me for the radio guestings, at first I didn’t think we would jam, I thought they’d let me play something and then let Jay play something after the interviews and promo spiels. But while he was setting up at our first radio guesting (Dig Radio), he asked if we would jam, and ofcourse I obliged! And that was a very inspiring spur of the moment jam, he played keys on my song, and I backed him up on his song. I just realized how much of a technical and emotional difference he has over me, but that only fired me up to play and hopefully add something nice to his already beautiful music.
The best part of all this is that we also jammed on the 2nd Radio station which was Jam 88.3. Too bad that Noel Cabangon had to leave – if not, I probably would have had the chance to also back him up! All in all it was such a wonderful and uplifting experience. Hope I get more opportunities like this in the future!
Justin Bieber’s Old Hairstyle vs. New Hairstyle
I don’t normally get into popular artists hairstyle but my son recently asked me about the new Justin Beiber Hairstyle. Who would have thought that I would be affected when Justin Bieber gets haircut.
The recent Justin Beiber haircut has been making waves among his fans, although my son is just mildly interested. That I guess is part of being a father in today’s generation, you have to see the new Justin Beiber Hair.
If you noticed that I spelled Justin Bieber’s name wrong, then you are part of the few who really check into details. Only a few percentage of readers could post the difference.
This is Justin Bieber the way he looks before. His old looks and hairstyle:
Here is Justin Bieber’s new hairstyle. Hold your breathe, everyone. The new Justin Bieber hair cut!

Which do you like better? It looked pretty much the same to me… but well you can take your pick.
Finally I told my son I liked the new Justin Bieber hair cut just so he could get back into playing his toys, and so he did. So we meet again until the next time Mr. Bieber gets a hair cut.
Prince William to Wed Kate Middleton
The news is abuzz with the upcoming wedding of Prince William and his bride-to-be Katherine Middleton. I was happy for the couple when I saw them on TV announcing their engagement. They have been in a relationship together for eight long years and it’s about time they tie the know. I still remember the wedding of Princess Diana to Prince Charles. I think I was still a baby when they got married but because it was replayed over and over it was like I was there to witness it too. It was a fairytale wedding – a prince marrying a princess so it was just right that there were so many crowd control measures that were implemented to handle the crowd. I saw stanchions, velvet rope, and barricades all over to keep the crowd in place. It didn’t help that Princess Diana was such a beauty and came out looking like a real-life princess. Too bad it didn’t end up in a happy ending. I guess that’s really what they got for marrying for the wrong reasons.
Anyway, the good news is I think Prince William and his fiancee are really in love with each other or else they won’t last that long together. I wish them both happiness and good life ahead.
Rihanna’s Neck Tattoo
Rihanna, is sporting a new neck tattoo.
The popular singer was spotted last August 10 with her boyfriend, Dodgers player Matt Kemp, going to Eastside Ink in New York to get a tattoo. The couple emerged later with Rihanna’s neck covered in bandage.
Now, finally it has been revealed what her new tattoo looks like. It reads “rebelle fleur” which is French for rebellious flower. Some critics say that there’s been a gramatical error in her tattoo and the correct phrase should be “fleur rebelle.” Anyway, I think her tattoo still looks great despite the error in grammar.
