Last month, we were blessed to join the worship concert of Israel Houghton and Planet Shakers at the Araneta Colliseum. We were able to get good seats up front and were even able to get pictures at the stage before the concert started.

While checking out their gear – I was surprised to find out that they were using Line 6 PodHD 500 floor pedals straight to PA!

The concert went really well, and although I was a bit skeptical at first – thinking that Israel and the guys from Planetshakers might have that rockstar mentality – I was proven wrong with their dedication to God and their careful way of making sure that the audience know that Jesus is the center – its all about God. Now if only we could have someone like Israel doing a praise and worship workshop at our local church – that would be really awesome! Or maybe have a video or audio conferencing from ActConferencing.com – teaching through the internet!
All in all it was an experience that I’ll never forget – like a preview of how the worship will be in heaven. I’ll be sure to buy front seat tickets again when they go back.
Ever since we had our iPad, my entire family loved reading electronic books. We get children’s books, Bible related books and other story telling books. Now if you ask me – what is the best ereader? My answer would be the iPad, but its just because its the only tablet that I have tried. I feel sorry for traditional books – electronic books are years ahead specially with its multimedia capabilities, having the capability to have interactive games, music, videos and anything else you could think of.
Enjoyed a number of awesome jams this month. The latest was with the band called Ten to Midnight, which in my humble opinion, have some of the most memorable and well written original music in the indie circuit. Since I usually play solo gigs, its nice to be gigging with a band from time to time.
Good thing we have a schooled drummer because my ears can’t take hard hitting on cymbals. Some drummers tend to have uncontrolled use of cymbals which eats up too much of the available frequencies that are supposed to be for other instruments. You can easily tell if a drummer is good by the way he hits his cymbals.
All in all it was a nice gig, and we are scheduled for some more this month.
Nirvana was a very strong cultural phenomenon back in my younger years so everyone my age was either influenced by their songs directly or indirectly.
Now Fender is giving fans a chance to try the guitar that Kurt Cobain was using. Even with it’s above average price, I have a feeling that a lot of young people will still get this guitar for simply being a replica of what Kurt Cobain used. Read more about this tribute guitar at Guitarsite.com
Z has just discovered a new favorite game at a local video games arcade. And yes it is a racing game, the only difference is that you are driving a huge truck which carries different types of loads. The graphics are nice and the game takes you through the US – with very nice cinematics. The best part and Z’s favorite is the huge steering wheel! You can really feel it shake as you turn and drive, and with the help of nice audio and a map system like the best trucker gps, it really feels like driving the real thing. We real1ly enjoyed the game, and hopefully in the future we can try driving a real truck! I’m sure Z will be so excited!
