House Color?
Since we are looking at getting our house renovated, we’ve been discussing about the color that the outside of our house will have. I’m thinking of going for something brown or bronze, while my wife wants something bright and colorful. Maybe we could even have an artist paint some nifty art on the gate.
Anyway we are all excited to finally get this house renovated.
House Construction is Within Sight
We found out that we are just one requirement away from the start of our house construction. I talked with my friend who is an architect and we scheduled a meeting this Saturday to start the house planning. We need to submit the draft as soon as possible. The rainy season will come soon and we don’t want to build a house with the rain and flood.
Anyway, I know we have to work hard in the coming months. We need to take care of all the details from the electrical switch plates we will use up to the kind of hollow blocks we would need. We have zero experience but thankfully we have my Dad to guide us in every step of the way.
Slide
Aside from GoKarts, slides are Zyke’s favorite. He has tried a myriad of slides – from the small slide at small play-pens when he was still very young, to the bigger slides at mall playgrounds, even the high water slides at Splash Island. I have contemplated on attaching a slide to his bed before – just to make it fun but sadly I’m not much of a carpenter and I’m not good with tools like pliers and even L-handle latches.
Anyway here is Zyke having a good time at a giant slide in a nearby children’s play area:

Kurt Cobain Jaguar
Nirvana was a very strong cultural phenomenon back in my younger years so everyone my age was either influenced by their songs directly or indirectly.
Now Fender is giving fans a chance to try the guitar that Kurt Cobain was using. Even with it’s above average price, I have a feeling that a lot of young people will still get this guitar for simply being a replica of what Kurt Cobain used. Read more about this tribute guitar at Guitarsite.com
Home Repairs
Since its the rainy season, we expect to see some damage on our old house. If my information is correct, half of the house was built during the late 70′s, and the other half was built when I was around 8 years old.
Now that our house is scheduled for a total reconstruction, we don’t want to spend too much money on repairs as much as possible. Although I love this house and have all my childhood memories on it, I can’t wait to get it fixed for the safety and convenience of my family. It’s also their turn to have happy memories. so for now we will just have to do the minor home repairs.
Wish we had ready built houses available here, so we can pick a nice house and have it delivered to our lot! For now we wait and we’ll have to see the house being built piece by piece.
House Plans
One of the things that we’re looking forward to this year is the building of our new house. I know it’s not a walk in the park and the process is going to cause us a lot of headaches but we know it will be worth it in the end. We almost ended up moving to an apartment earlier when we discovered water on the floor, one particularly rainy day but thank God the rain stopped on time. We’re in a flood prone area but we’re just going to build the house higher and buy wooden furniture like those Adirondack chairs I saw online. We can just add a stylish and colorful pillow to make it more interesting.
This week, we are going to meet with our architect to put in paper the design we wanted. The house would just be a simple two-storey house but it would be something we can call truly ours.
