Good thing we have a schooled drummer because my ears can’t take hard hitting on cymbals. Some drummers tend to have uncontrolled use of cymbals which eats up too much of the available frequencies that are supposed to be for other instruments. You can easily tell if a drummer is good by the way he hits his cymbals.

All in all it was a nice gig, and we are scheduled for some more this month.

Its now been a year since the 1st Elements National Songwriting Camp. 7101musicnation has already set up a Christmas party for campers of batch 1 and 2 by early December.

I can still remember vividly how beautiful Bahura resort was, and how awesome Lake Balanan was. The long travel was well worth it. Its just too bad that we didn’t get to do more leisure activities like horseback riding, the sea side and the view would have been very nice to pass by slowly on a horse with matching riding boots. Those few days in Dumaguete is still a fond memory that I still look back on with a smile from time to time.

I just recently chanced upon this amazing guitar player. Jon Gomm simply utilizes every part of his guitar to make music. He applies various advanced techniques simultaneously, I can’t even begin to imagine how I would start to attempt his style of music. His style is very organic and earthy, combining elements of easy melodies backed up by syncopated and complicated rhythms.

Jon Gomm employs very hard and unconventional techniques like detuning, scratching, percussive attacks, two hand tapping all at the same time. To top it all off he sings! Its just sad that some of his other videos is not as clear, if only the uploader used sony cameras or any brand that had HD.

Anyway enjoy the video and be inspired
