Bus falling from the Sky

It might sound crazy but yes, there was a bus that fell from the Sky, the SkyWay that is, which is an elevated expressway here. During the midst of heavy rainfall the driver of the said bus was probably running in excess of 100 Kph, and probably hit a puddle of water. The story goes that he lost control, hit the side railings of the road a couple of times before finally falling the road below causing casualties and severe injuries. Sadly people had to die just because a bus driver was not properly trained and was not careful. This is one of the reasons why I dislike driving at roads where bus drivers roam. Hopefully the bus companies will be more strict and supply better training and screening for their drivers after this incident.

Excited for Camp Tomorrow

I forgot to buy my notebook for tomorrows songwriting camp. We were at the mall earlier to do some last minute shopping. After a hearty lunch, we proceeded for some pampering at a facial clinic. Would you believe that I actually forgot how painful facials and pricking can be? I cried a bucket of tears to my embarrassment but no matter what I do I can’t stop it. The pricking really hurts like hell! After our trip to the facial clinic, I was able to buy some shoes before finally going home. Now that I’m at home I forgot that I needed a notebook for our camp and some custom sticky notes too. The musical artists will be teaching us a lot about songwriting and I intend to write all the things they would teach us. Hmm, on the other hand, maybe I’ll just record everything with my video cam so I wouldn’t forget anything.

Just Got Back

We just got back from Market! Market!  I finally was able to buy new shoes for myself.  I’m glad I got a good deal from the Sports Warehouse.  It’s just like the same old shoes I’m wearing but in a different color.  What can I say, I really like the style that’s why I have to buy the same style twice! hehe  Now that shopping is over I’ll be going to church to fulfill some of my duties.  I will be teaching kids to play the guitar.   Ciao!

Guitar-less

One sad thing about the coming National Songwriting Camp, is that I won’t be able to bring my trusted guitar “Martina” to the site. If only there was a cheap insurance for fragile items like guitars on planes. And much better if I could hand carry my guitar on the plane! Anyway, there will be instruments available on the site, I hope we will have enough to go around for all the applicants. The other sad thing about the camp is sleeping alone without my loving wife and kid, I haven’t been by myself for that long in a long time! I’m excited and at the same time wishing that it could have been a bring your family affair

What if?

Don’t we all sometimes wish we are a totally different person?  What if I was an athlete, a Basketball star?  What if I was a rockstar? What if I were handling stress free jobs like banking jobs? There are so many what ifs, and at times it’s fun to think of them. But the irony is that the more I think about them the more I realize that everything is perfect just the way they are, and I wouldn’t change anything in the past. I will however use this realization to plan for my future better and change my future

Additional School Years Proposed

The news is buzzing about the additional two years in high school.  According to the reports, once it is implemented a child would have to undertake 1 kinder year, 6 grade school years, 4 high school years, plus two senior high school years.  I’m wondering does that mean Z, who already took two years of school prior to grade school, just wasted one of those years?  Some parents even let their children take three years in preschool.  I thought two years of preschool was just right but now I’m thinking we might have only wasted our hard earned money.

Anyway, I felt bad for Z when I heard the news.  Imagine already spending 13 years in school and that doesn’t even include anything related to dissertation. After finishing 13 long years in school he will still have to take a four-year college course.  If he wants to get his phd with phd dissertation he would have to endure a minimum of 19 years at school.

The only consolation is that studying is easier now with the internet at the student’s fingertips.  Getting information for their assignments or getting a free gcse coursework is now just a click away.  I sure hope that Z will learn to love school so he can finish his studies.  I guess as his parent, I would play a very big role in that.
